Friday Night May Day

It's been months since I've posted, but now seems like as good a time as any... The last four months have been really busy, but I seem to like it that way. I've been up for two hours already (it's 8:30 am PST) and I've already watched an episode of NCIS on my computer, finished off a cup of coffee, and am currently plotting the weekend.

Took O to the airport last night. We barely made it because traffic was horrendous. Why is it that people need to drive 20 mph slower just because it's sprinkling?? JC was cursing like a madman and using his finest lane-changing skills to get us there. We pulled up and got her through security. But I yelled out the wrong gate to her. When I realized it, it was too late. Her phone was off and she had seven minutes to get to gate 28 and I had sent her to gate 2. I cried and felt like the worst mom in the world. Not only was this the first time I've ever let her go into the airport alone, I had sent her to the wrong gate!

Fortunately, my smart and savvy little person figured it out fast and got in the right line at the right gate and called me as she was getting on the plane. Very proud, but also whacking myself on the head...

JC was craving chicken-friend steak, so we ended up at "Chicken and Waffles" on Jack London Square. No steak, but lots of fried chicken. Very nice people, good music, and strong vodka cosmos. Thanks to Michelle for the suggestion!

Although I had planned to go to the Giants game, it was raining so nobody wanted to come with me. Instead of driving home in the pouring rain, we stopped at B & Michelle's. They were just finishing dinner, so we pulled the kiddies out of the high chairs, turned up the tunes and danced like crazy fools. Then we jammed some space rock and Two Sticks tunes downstairs. Very cool! Not bad for a Friday night.

Michelle took video of the dancing twins, which I'm sure we'll appreciate when they turn into self-conscious teenagers. In the meantime, I'm posting a sweet video of Eli playing the piano with O. He has mad music skills, that one.
